History of the JOT Group
Japan Oil Transportation (JOT) was founded in 1946 with the goal of transporting domestic crude oil.
As economic and social circumstances have undergone changes, we have expanded transportation articles and business regions to carry cargo that is essential to the industries of our country and to our personal lives.

Established Japan Crude Oil Transportation (current Japan Oil Transportation) in Japan as a business founded in domestic crude oil
Began transporting domestic crude oil via railroad tank cars and tanker trucks

Began transporting petroleum products via tanker trucks

Renamed the company Japan Oil Shipping
Began transporting petroleum products via railroad tank cars
Began transporting Liquid Petroleum Gas (LPG) via Japan’s first LPG tanker trucks

Began transporting jet fuel to Haneda airport via tanker trucks
Renamed the company Japan Oil Transportation

Began transporting chemical products via tank cars

Began transporting LPG via railroad tank cars

Established Tōhoku Oil Transportation

Established Kinki Oil Transportation

Concluded transport to Narita upon pipeline completion

Began intermodal shipping using railway and motor vehicle transport through Group alliances

Merged four subsidiaries—Kanto Oil Transportation, Kansai Oil Transportation, Tōhoku Oil Transportation, and Sapporo Oil Transportation
Established ENEX, INC.

Began transporting Japan's first LNG tank containers via railway

Established new J's

Acquired Kyoei Kigyō (current JK TRANS) as a wholly-owned subsidiary
Began transporting hydrogen via trailer trucks

Steps Taken Toward Realizing a Carbon-free Society
Today, the JOT Group engages in a solar power generation business and the transport of hydrogen and ammonia. We are expanding our initiatives to develop a carbon-free society aiming to realize carbon neutrality by 2050 utilizing the experience amassed by JOT thus far.

Started transport of concentrated hydrogen by trailer truck.
JOT has been transporting hydrogen to hydrogen stations since 2012.

Entry into the Solar Power Generation Business
Established JOT Solar Stations
Four solar power generation stations in Muroran, Koriyama, Kamisu, and Gamagori help reduce our environmental impact.

2021
Established a new Green Logistics Project
The Green Logistics Project investigates and researches the commercialization of green energy transport as well as examines and researches motor vehicles that can help preserve the environment.
